Google introduced its first foldable phone, the Google Pixel Fold, at the I/O 2023 event last month. With its design, the Pixel Fold caught everyone’s attention and was released for sale on June 27. However, the device has been experiencing some issues in its early days.
The Google Pixel Fold came with screen defects and display problems
Google’s first foldable phone received a lot of attention in its initial days, so much so that this interest also brought along some issues. It was revealed that due to high demand, some orders could not be fulfilled. Some of the users who were able to place orders are experiencing problems with their devices.
The Google Pixel Fold started being shipped to customers, and their feedback began to emerge. Some users shared the issues they encountered with the device on social media. One user mentioned noticing dents and surface flaws between the frame and the screen protector, while some users noticed the screen protector peeling off after just five hours of use.
Some users are experiencing problems on the screen side of the device. It was reported that some devices have horizontal pink lines appearing on the OLED screen. On the other hand, Google quickly responded to the issue. Google spokesperson Alex Moriconi said, “We recommend that anyone experiencing issues reach out to us.”
Of course, it’s worth noting that similar issues occur with almost every phone that enters the market. Considering that the foldable smartphone sector is still in its early stages of development, we can understand and accept these kinds of issues as natural.
